hi everyone im new to this site, so let me explain my odd title-
i love color, but i use it waaay too much, and my paintings end up looking flat because i focus too much on color and not on value. taking the advice of Steph Laberis, i decided to try to suppress my addiction to color (for awhile) so i can focus on value and form and whatever else not pertaining to color.
i should mention that im taking fine arts/painting classes, but i think my taste leans more towards illustration or conceptual art. unfortunately, there are no illustration/conceptual art courses at my school. it seems like my painting class focuses more on individual expression, and many of the students do abstract and/or nonrepresentational stuff. im just stuck somewhere in the middle trying to find my niche. hopefully you guys can help me find my way.
so, feel free to comment and critique. i know i need it
