According to a new study I was just reading high dosed vitamin C, i.e 1000mg or more leads to decreased muscle strength up to a week later after exercise. However, doses of 100 to 500mg a day seems to speed up recovery.

Why? Scientists suspect that high doses of vitamin c reduce the number of scavenger cells whos job it is to clean up debris from muscle damage and signal your body that your muscles neep repair.

Keep your vitamin C supplement capped at 500mg a day for recovery. Also an amount proven to aid your immune system.
