I have a series of three Catholic prayer books printed in Paris in 1847. Is there a name for this type of binding? There is brass and nickle overlay of the velvet covers. The title page says "For Mariano Galvan Rivera" He was an editor and publisher in Mexico in the 19th century. Would this inscription mean they were his personal books, or just made for him to re-sell in his shop?
