Hi folks,

I've got a couple of questions, thought I'd merge them in one thread.

1. Is there any good way to wash petit point stitching on purses and compacts?

2. Does anyone know what these doilies are? They are some type of needlework, and one has a Made in Occupied Japan sticker. They aren't embroidery I don't think. They're quite lovely. They seem to been sewn on a thick multi layer cotton fabric.

They could really use a cleaning too, but I'm afraid to wash them as I don't know what either the fabric or stitching is. The backs are so much cleaner than the fronts - they must have been stunning when they were new.

Anybody familiar with this technique?
