I saw on television a number of years ago how to make a cleaning solution that wouldn't harm any of the records and was used by most record collectors -- remember it had alcohol and glycerine in it but not sure of proportions or if anything else was in this (seems like the alcohol was very small amount compared to the glycerine (might have been baby oil but pretty sure it was glycerine).

Anyone know how to make this cleaner?

I have a bunch of old records that got something spilled on them when my kids were having a party and then they put them back in the dustcovers and I just found this out -- so of course I want to clean them without damaging since many of these are originals from the 40s to 80s and even have signatures on them of the artists.

{Of course I was very very upset they had even allowed their friends to get into my record collection and do this -- at least none appear to be scratched -- just grimy with something or other that got spilled on them; of course my kids were on restriction for quite a long time since they KNEW not to touch the records without me being around -- I don't even play them -- I always made tape recordings of them and then always played the tapes instead of messing up the original records -- and here these kids were early 20s so they should have known better... }.
