Thanks to Jana for suggesting a sticky thread where we can post links and other helpful info to assist each other in recognising reproductions.

Please post the links to any sites that expose fakes, and also to any sites that you know of that sell reproductions. Some sites sell repros openly while others do so without disclaiming. It is good for us to know about them all, and also to have links to the sites that educate us about reproductions.

ok...I will go first:

For those that buy and sell glass, do be aware that there is a site that specialises in glass and other reproductions. Although they openly state that this is what they sell, yet, many of these repops show up on auction sites and in retail venues as "the real McCoy". ...sadly this site also sells fake McCoy cookie jars "signed McCoy" ...so that statement is not merely tongue in cheek!)

speaking about the real McCoys....... here is a useful site for seeing which McCoy cookie jars have been reproduced.....I use a pop up blocker so be sure to have yours ON as these about sites sometimes do have a lot of popups
