For the past 10 years or so, the little german baker who appeared at the local farmer's markets and flea markets has been absent. Along with her absence has been the availability of her german plum cakes. I am looking for a recipe that is close to this delightful confection as described below. Can anyone help?

The cakes were baked round with a 9 inch diameter. The sweet cake had all of the right mix of eggs, flour, sugar and butter. But the best part was the even distribution of sweet plums and marzipan baked throughout the cake. Always baked to a golden brown, this sweet combination of flavors and moist texture was incredibly delicious.

I would like to find a recipe that I could use to replicate what appears to be a classic german-style sweet plum cake recipe. Can anyone provide such a treat. This would be greatly appreciated, especially before the holidays!
