This is in response to Sherri in Michigan's story regarding the auctioneer not backing off when he saw that a family member wanted something. He was under an agency relationship with the seller which means that he was BOUND to get the most for each item that came across the block. He could have lost his license if there was any hint of him not getting the most he could for everything that was sold. He worked for the seller - not the crowd - would you expect him to back off if one of his friends, family or employees at the auction wanted something? Sounds like an honest auctioneer to me.
