Hello everyone, I'm brand new to this site and I'm enjoying reading the posts. I have been a subscriber to the Collector's Newsletter and in today's issue there was a commentary against articles about what to collect. I agree that collecting is a very personal matter -- we should follow our hearts, not trends.

That said, my younger sister (just turned 30) has watched me (just turned 40) collect since she can remember. I collect all things relating to turtles, plus vintage metal 3D brooches, Frankoma, and certain types of sterling charms.

My sister recently said that she would LOVE to collect but does not know where to begin. Can anyone suggest a means by which she can identify what she would like to collect? I got her started on ebay but there is so much there...

My sister is a busy gal with three lovely children. Interestingly, her two daughters are AVID collectors!!!

Any suggestions from my fellow collectors?
