I have a wind-up toy that belonged to my mother. The box says "Miss Lady Bug". It's a insect about 4" long made of light-weight metal. When wound with the key built into its underside, it walks while flapping its wings.
The underside is green, the legs are red, the wings are striped with yellow, red, and green, and the body is yellow with extensive red and orange decorations.
There's no manufacturer information beyond "Made in Japan" and a small logo on the box, a "Y" inside a sort of 10-pointed starburst.
My mother was born in the mid-40s, but I'm assuming the item was made in the early 50s, since I can't imagine a lot of toys getting imported right after WWII.
Does anyone have any information on this item?
