I know that some of you ladies that are from the "old school" are going to just blush when you read this. Vintage lingerie is very popular these days. With my website at the online antique malls, it did extremly well. When I opened my store here in Charleston, S.C. I was a little unsure whether to make a small section for the lingerie or not. I just did not see it really doing well here in this area. I was taken by surprise when I began to bring it into the store, a little at a time and it has been selling very well. The college girls are wearing night gowns with their jeans, or they cut them up to the waist and make a top out of them to wear with jeans. Somehow they intertwine vintage lingerie with their everyday clothing. So, the dingy little slip that you found out of a box lot sale that you got for a $1.00 at a auction, don't throw it away. There is a whole new generation that is really into vintage lingerie.

Aprons, half and full bib aprons are also a big hit among the college girls. Again, they find ways to wear them with their jeans or skirts and do a little vintage hippie boho type thing with them. Also, more and more people are decorating their homes with the retro look of the 50's and 60's. Our store is located in a very old area that was first built in the early 50's. The homes are only about 1,000 sq. ft. and the market value of them right now is about $300,000.00. The higher income group of people are buying these cute little houses and fixing them up in retro style. Aprons add to that type of decor, so if you can also find old pot handle pads, those too will fit in well with the kitchen 50's decor.
