Hi, this is my first post and after hours, turned into days, of searching for any information at all on this piece...I've ended up here. And, I have to say, I'm already feeling relieved. And, I still have to learn how to post a pic
I'll describe it the best I can and hopefully somebody can help me to learn how old it is or even it's origion.
I have a friend who works at a lapidary and he told me the stones are Jadeite. Each stone was seperately set in a bezel and then added to the swastka, all by hand. The four corner stones have a zig-zag bezel edge while the center is straight. I'm not sure how to describe the actual pin on the back except to say it coundn't be any more basic. There is no safety clasp or spring and the pin is slightly bent on the ends tip where it slips under 3/4 open circle of brass to secure it. The feather leaves do look like they were made from a mold, as they all have a similar cast. It's 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches in size and it is solid brass.
