Can anyone out there help me?

I'm having a devil of a time trying to upload a DECENT image for my ad in Buyers Market.

My scanner automatically scans at 150dpi 16 million colors. When I scan an image to upload for BM I have to decrease the colors to 256 in order for the file to meet the 25K requirement. My image turns out horrible after the upload.

It looks great on my monitor even after I've decreased the color depth but when I upload it this is what it looks like:

Not going to be able to get any prospective buyers from that one.

My images through TIAS always come out looking pretty good.

Maybe I don't understand how to properly get that file size down to 25K.
