Here we go again, as Chuck D once said, with our semi-regular (sounds like me thesedays, must eat more prunes) democratic dissection of a diamond or a dog of a movie...

The runners and riders this time are -

Hostel (Eli Roth) - Backpacking Americans become embroiled in all manner of nastiness while on a European trip. When will they ever learn?

Manderlay (Lars von Trier) - von Trier's follow-up to Dogville sees Willem Dafoe and Bryce Dallas Howard arriving at a 1930s Alabama Plantation where something is definately amiss...

The Squid & The Whale (Noah Baumbach) - A black comedy centering on divorce and it's fallout based on the real life experiences of writer/director Baumbach.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (Tommy Lee Jones) - The Grumpy One directs a highly lauded road movie of sorts where he also stars as a cowboy bringing his best friend across the Mexican border and home...

Tsotsi (Gavin Hood) - A young Johannesburg gang leader (the titular Tsotsi) gets involved in an accidental kidnapping in this Academy Award winning (2006 Best Foreign Language Picture) drama.

The poll will last until Thursday 31st August and I'll start the winner's discussion thread off a few days later.

So, which one do ye wanna watch?

Replies:
