I use to read alot of comic books when I was a teenager. But, looking at some of the movies that are based on comic books, I'm forced to wonder why its so hard for Hollywood to stay true to the comic book when making their movies. Even the more sucessful comic/movies like X-Men has aspects of it that are not true to its comic book counterpart. From what I remember, Rouge and Magneto had a little affair going on in the comics. But in the movies, of course Rogue is nearly the same age as Jubilee, she has the hots for Ice"boy" of all people, and Magneto tried to kill her. And don't get me started on this Hugh Jackman guy playing perhaps the second most important Marvel Character on the big screen yet (Second only to Spiderman that is). In the comics Wolverine is a living weapon. In the movies, I don't know what he's suppose to be. I dont know if Hugh Jackman has studied this character at all, but when I see Hugh Jackman in an X-Men film, I don't see Wolverine.

The only comic book movie that I believe stayed true to the comics is Blade. Unlike Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Wesley Snipes becomes Blade. The only problem I had with any of the Blade movies is how much of a punk the Triple H character was.

But for what its worth, in my opinion, the Blade Trilogy is definatly the best three comic based movies ever. Sure, Blade may not be as loved as Spiderman, and the movies may not have been as visually appealing as Spiderman. But I'll take the 3 Blade films over the 2 Splderman films anyday. Anyone agree with me? If not, what is the best comic based movie, and why?
