As we all know, the American economy has been in a slump, according to most economic and news sources. Yet, I rarely hear any news on the subject of this basically infant global trade enterprise, online auction trading.

If the feds were to put the figures to paper, shouldn't they see that the online auction industry is a major player in worldwide economic trade? Shouldn't there be an interest on the part of the feds to promote this new economic venue and offer more incentives to the particpants in the way of fed-backed small business loans, venture capital, promotion, etc?

All I hear about is the mega corps filing for bankruptcy, the jobs being exported to low-paying foreign countries, and on and on. Where's the help for the mom & pop in-home businesses who are proving daily that we can operate a successful home business and generate billions in revenue for this country?

Anyone have any stats or input on this subject?
