So I'm running a single clean channel amp with el34's. I want a heavy distortion and soaring gain sound. Think devil driver rhythm and petrucci lead tones. I want it to have good note clarity and plenty of punch and chug when it comes to palm muting. Anyone suggest a good pedal??? I may get a tube screamer to run after it as a boost.

I think you'd be far better off looking into a secondary pre-amp, peda...

get a peavey rockmaster tube preamp and run it into the power amp sect...
