Alright, just a little while back these Musican Forums were temporarily closed, and I had a huge, very descriptive thread concerning my situation and the kind of advice I'm looking for, but I lost it...all. Looking back I really wish I had saved it in a word d0cument, but oh well, it's too late for that...so here's a much more condensed version of my previous thread..

I've played bass for about two and a half years and have had a guitar for about a year and a half
I've been playing out of my bass amp, attempting to achieve the best tone I possibly can with it while playing with a guitar through it...but yeah, as you can imagine it doesn't sound too good, especially when I tried jamming with another guitar and a bass. I have such little clarity, the other two guys could barely tell if I was playing in key or, if I was playing the lead rhythm, what key I was even playing in.
But my question isn't how can I improve my tone playing through a bass amp... That would be a stupid question.

My question is this: I've been saving half my paychecks from work (though I work much less now that school's in) and I'm planning on spending around $600 or so on probably a half stack (head & a cab)...if not that a large combo
I was considering a Marshall 4x10 stack
I'm not too interested in on-board effects, except for a good on-board distortion that can carry me through till I get the Digitech Metal Master, etc
This may help in suggestions: I'm looking for a combo or head & cab that will be able to be heard and keep up jamming along with another guitarist, a drummer, and a bassist
I play mainly any kind of rock: metal, hardcore, just straight up rock, etc
Here's a list of a lot of bands that I like to listen to and play the same type of music as
He Is Legen
Red Hot Chili Pepper
Pilla
As I Lay Dyin
Emer
The Showdow
Showbrea
Becoming the Archetyp
Still Remain
Winter Solstic
Copelan
Demon Hunte
As Cities Bur
Norma Jea
Bloodlined Calligraph
Underoat
And there's many, many more but I'd say that should give you a fair range of information and insight as to what I like and like to play..
And I have an ESP F-100FM, just in case that helps..

I'll barely come back and edit this with more information on what I'm interested in as general questions come up that I haven't anticipated (mainly because, as I said before, I'm not going into nearly as much detail)
When you state a suggestion, at list give the specific name of the manufacturer and the model (duh ), and if you could, it would be helpful if you include the general retail price of the product (obviously not the MSRP) and pros and cons of the product, preferably from your personal experience.

Thanks!

The ESP F-100FM isn't an "over 1500" in cost guitar.
