So a good 4 years ago, being the try-hard nu-metal sorta kid we all were at some point, (yeah, I know you weren't. but shut it) I bought a Boss MT-2 to use as a distortion unit in unison with whatever crappy SS amp I had at the time. It worked well enough for what I played.
Over the past few years my tastes naturally expanded into metalcore, indie, emocore, post-rock, and hardcore. And so my songwriting has gotten more tonally (and technically) diverse...
Therefore, I'm looking for a way to be able to get a nice post-rock/indie-rock sort of clean sound (think Explosions in the Sky/Death Cab?) as well as a decent overdrive for nice pop-punk-like rhythms, and a heavier distortion for a post-hardcore sounding lead. (think Protest the Hero, Alexisonfire)
So I was looking at the Blues Junior.
I'm thinking that the Behringer MIC200 tube preamp I have combined with the Blues Junior itself would be able to get me the cleans and slight overdrive I want, and the Metal Zone could further boost this into a nice smooth sustained lead or scooped rythm.
I want something that will sound good recorded also, through a large diaphragm condensor, so I can ditch Guitar Rig.
Am I right in my assumptions? thanks.
