Okay i've been trying to progress my speed in playing, and i am doing okay except theres quite a few techniques i am having difficulty with.

I wondering if i am wasting time playing the first part of the solo to War Pigs by Sabbath for an hour each day and not really progressing in speed (i'm stuck on about 80 bpm), when i could be learning slower songs more suited to my abilities. I'm getting frustrated repeating the same thing over and over again for weeks when i only have an hour or so each day to play.

So my question is it better to learn really hard stuff, taking your time with it and building it up over time as opposed to gradually increasing the difficulty of the type of songs you learn?
