mmk, I've decided to ge into my chosen weapon (bass) seriously, so I've decided it might be time to invest in a Real book. only problem being, the only ones I can find online or thru my book shop is the Hal Leonard ones, and I've heard bad-ish things.

Okay, firstly, if I'm buying this book, what am I gonna get? Is it all just jazz standards and things written on sheet music, or does it discuss and explain the concepts of jazz/music theory to me?

Secondly, does anybody have any experience with the Hal Leonard versions of the real book? I've heard stories of transcripts missing, half-present songs, and mistakes in the content. Anybody help me out? cheers guys, oh and if you think I should check out any other books covering jazz/blues theory, suggest away
