Went to the Will Calhoun drum clinic earlier today, was amazing!
This guy is one awesome drummer. He is the drummer in Living Colour, and has done many other projects. And he was Number One Progressive Drummer in 1989, 1991 and 1992 (Modern Drummer) just to name a few of his awards.

Very nice setup he has, the one here was a Pro M, though he usually uses an Orion or Saturn kit.
20 and 18" kicks plus 10, 12, 14, 16" toms.
His pedal setup is pretty sweet. He uses a custom Sleeshman double pedal on the main kick (where the beaters are between the two pedals).

Those weird looking acrylic 'cymbals' you see. They are triggered to do various sounds which he can switch between easily while still playing (not sure how he does it).
He also uses a wave drum (you can sorta see it to the right in the pic) to make awesome loops which he than plays to.

At the end they had a draw for this very very very sexy Limited Edition Tribal Black Panther snare. I wanted it so badly, oh man...
But a guy few seats away from me won it, he will definately be enjoying that snare, lucky bastid.

I also got myself a drum head signed by the man himself.

I had a great time, and came out of the place inspired, was definately worth the $5 ticket.
