Posted at January 27, 2016, 6:10 pm: ok everyone on here talks about stick control this stick control that. well i finally got a copy of it. my first question is how do i use it. i mean i can play through it and stuff. some of it i dont quite understand towards the end but that is besides the point. neways like what should i do to help it really benefit me? ive been told to do it with my feet too. i dont have double base but would it be ok to just do it on bass hat combo? how fast should i take that beats. how many times should i repeat each line. which lines should i combo or does it matter? at the bottom it says repeat 20 times. do i go ahead and do that or does neone have ne other suggestions. im going to try to play at least 30-40 minutes a night. maybe a hour if i can but ive been really busy lately cause i get home from baseball about 6 then ive got to eat/take shower then study so im having to cram it in. cause i have something else every night. i have one more question now regarding drum lessons. right now he has a pair of quads and that is what i play in the marching band and we've just been correcting some of my bad habits and getting me to play more fluently. we've also been running through some basic warmups/rudiments. well the other day we finally got to set down at a set and he said ive got all the basic rock beats and stuff down so he taught me the basic swing beat and told me to work on it this week. i dont really enjoy jazz that much but i do know that it will greatly help me. the beat was just a basic swing on ride with bass counts 1 2 3 4 and hat 2 4. nothing special. well i guess what im asking is there nething i should ask him to help me with or nething i can do extra besides stick control and just jamming. srry for taking so long :P but id really appreciate any ideas especially with stick control. my main problem is i just get bored with it but ne thing that makes it fun or just put in a part of a song you like in between or what lol. thx again Original of the message was taken from http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/ Replies:Translated: The most important pages of stick control are pages 5 -7.hmm that helps alot.
