A Note: I wrote a song titled this not long ago. However, where in that song, I tried to capture the entire life story of the DC comic Supervillain Chronos in a brief, quite fundamental manner, I wrote this piece as an attempt to write a sophisticated and detailed story.

So without any further ado, I pray you enjoy The Life Story of the Notorious David Clinton.

The Life Story of the Notorious David Clinton

Turning the Zodiac Wheel: Part I
I am the personification of time,
Reconstructed with ink and paper.

The Maladroit Pearl Owner
I've stumbled over every possession,
Possibly conceivable.
I've made my way beneath steps,
Carved in mahogany.
There is no way for me,
To exit these abnormal dreams,
Where every feeling, every sense,
Relies on both of my left feet.

And when the lights fall down,
And the constabulary wake up.
Like drooling hounds,
Chasing the scent that they've found.
They're making hunt on my poor,
Sinistrality.
I need a way to escape,
From this reality.

My inner workings are broken cogs,
Simply irretrievable.
They move with liquid grace,
Random fluidity,
Of a mosquito trapped in amber,
Struggling only to find it's sinking further down, further below.
And while I twist and struggle,
The vellus gain the ground.

And when the lights fall down,
And the constabulary wake up.
Like drooling hounds,
Chasing the scent that they've found.
They're making hunt on my poor,
Sinistrality.
I need a way to escape,
From this reality.

I'm caught in their net,
In a cell on wheels,
Transported by an axle,
While I feel-
My struggling slow down,
As the amber around me hardens,
Fossilised now,
A jewel beneath the garden.

And while my body reverts back,
To hibernating like the womb,
A sharp percussion manifests,
A ticking clock inside my room.

In Time With Clepsydra
Every swing of the pendulum,
Every click as a lever finds its place.
This is my cell, my jar, my hell.
Where sunlight filters through holes punched in my roof.
Where breathing is seen as an invitation to burn.

I can't remember,
Being anywhere
Other than here.

Every swing of the pendulum,
Every click as a lever finds its place.
Synchronising with an empty wall,
In a void as dead as outer space.

I'm going backwards,
While the clicks continue on
And on and on.

Buzzing away at the window panes,
Gossamer bars make my prison so much worse.
I plan my flight, for days and nights,
Where every escape is gilded free of truth.
And security died off with the cold.

Every swing of the pendulum,
Every click as a lever finds its place.
Synchronising with an empty wall,
In a void as dead as outer space.

I'm going backwards,
While the clicks continue forwards.
I follow onwards,
It's time now to be gone.

Don Blue and Separate
This is me standing in a mirror,
Where the lush meets the sunlight,
And I'm all set.

I broke the pillars on my way,
Through the jaded gates of hell,
Just to be here.

I'm out to make my grand escape,
Designed to destroy them all,
With my own hands.

Merry-go-around with the ticking hands,
A pocket full of hours,
A tissue for my screaming fans.
They all fall down.

A stadium of terror,
Far ahead of the past,
The panic sets my heart alight,
Alight behind an hourglass.

Merry-go-around with the ticking hands,
The pockets full of hours,
A tissue for my screaming fans.
They all fall down.

A knife cemented in seconds,
A scream invented, it beckons,
Me forward closer, closer, closer.
They all fall down.

Nor Sear Cane Essence
I stole my way into a place,
Where time burns clean with fires set alight from the flow.
A capsule so compressed,
It's not at all surprising to find I'm better not here at all.
I sing a melody, melody,
Begging an enemy, for more,
Where is my melody, melody.
I'm arguing logistics,
When I should be more concerned for my soul.

My fingers clasp around the dial,
I could be here for a while.
And it's only fair to say I want more.
My grip is melted to the dial,
It's more than I've ever wanted,
And it's only fair to say I want more.

I reign with my own style of chaos,
Fires stay above but the spinning hands are in my control,
Hold off fatal cardiac arrest,
With a touch I'm toning up everything you could possibly know.
I wrote this poetry, poetry.
Saving time right from the word go,
This is my poetry, poetry,
I stopped the limbs from the motion,
Meanwhile destiny is bowed at my throne.

My fingers clasp around the dial,
I could be here for a while.
And it's only fair to say I want more.
My grip is melted to the dial,
It's more than I've ever wanted,
And it's only fair to say I want more.

Nearer to the peak of time,
Further from the casket line,
My essence, for a lesson.
On a rotating fist,
It's a necessary risk.
And it's only fair to say I want more.

Defected Desiderio
Limbs cease moving as I'm losing,
Time- I'm getting back what's mine.
Hazy swirls of chronology,
Redesigns my philosophy.
Of how my world works.
Another crime spells it clearly,
I'm getting back what's mine.

Are you stuck in ticking quick-sand,
Fleeing for your life,
From the flick of a fist, or hand.
I try to run, chased by the arc of the sun.
I'm sinking like a ship at sea.

Days weld together, forever and forever,
I hide, from what is mine.
Rotating discs spell out to me,
Printed text in my obituary,
I hold my conscience to me dearly,
I'm holding off what's mine.

I am a personification,
My scream, it beckons,
Reincarnate on papyrus flesh,
We all fall down.
