Background for non-listeners

The Police, in my opinion, where one of the big two bands in the 80s that weren't metal influenced. It was them and Queen. Stylistically, The Police were very smooth players. Highly talented and able to turn a song's feel and structure on its head quite deftly. They really were a musician's band, compared to Queen who were more performers. For a starting point, Synchronicity is a good place to start. Discuss the Police!
