A lot of feedback this time, so thanks for helping the thread succeed and have people actually caring... *weeps* Anyway... In case you aren't aware, the Short Story Competitions have been rather successful. Paul150/St. Peter's Truckstop originally started this contest way back in the day, and then it took a hiatus, and now it's back. There were sixteen completed short story competitions during SSC v.2.0, and the seventeenth is going to be decided currently. Here are some ground rules (that are fluid and subject to change) for these short story competitions, as dictated by myself and Jom and Paul: When you give feedback to the authors in the voting thread, please leave CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. This means don't be a suck-up or an spatula. When you give your feedback, give some pros and cons, and if you feel like it, give their story a rating. It doesn't matter if you do it on a 0-100% scale, or a letter grade (A, A-, B+, etc.), or a number of out five/ten/whatever. You don't need to be a terrific speller or type with the best grammar or have character development, but admittedly, your writing will be more favored if you do so. - The new contests will be open on Monday nights (Jom time), so your entries must be submitted no later than one week after (Jom time). - If there is an extension, it will be until Thursday. - Tentative voting schedule: With extension: three-day period, ending Sunday night. New thread Monday. Without extension: three-day period, ending Wednesday night. New thread Thursday. So, basically, you'll have three days to vote, regardless of if the submission deadline is seven days or ten days. If you have any questions or suggestions for me about the contest, please feel free to post in this thread or shoot me an e-mail. So, here's how we'll rock the vote: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ AND MAKE A FAIR JUDGEMENT OF ALL THE STORIES. Tojes - "Jesus touched me in the nads" 2. San John - "The helping Jebus" 3. More Lan, Less DSL - "Christ lol" First place gets three points, second place two, third place one. Accumulate the totals, and the highest point-getter gets to pick the next theme/concept/idea. This author will then e-mail me the topic, and as soon as I know, the new thread will go up. Remember: - Voting/ranking goes in the voting thread. NEW SITUATION: The feedback will be given in this thread, if you want to congratulate someone or tell them what they did well or wrong do it here, but vote in a different post if you're giving feedback.
