PLEAS READ BEFORE POSTING:

Thanks to Jason,

As per request by many, the critique center has been made into a forum of its own in CLEAR VIEW, so I hope people will consider this a place to come in order to recieve help, critiques and to improve.

This will be a thread where people can offer up ideas, worries, opinions, frustrations, ask for help from the moderators, ask any questions if your confused.. etc. Since people seem to get confused about what this place is for - just read the statement:

A forum for constructive criticism regarding artworks. No fighting! Be Honest, be helpful, be straight-up, be true, and share your ideas about how to make better art.

Please read the FAQ list and other stickies and or ask any of the moderators of this section for any assistance regarding the new critique center.

"Please do not be offended if your work gets moved in here. If it does, it is a boon for you because you will be able to focus on improving and get crits of a more specific level."

NO SKETCHES, ABSOLUTELY NO DOODLES!!!

New Rule: I would prefer that rough sketches and doodles, even if they are in color be kept to the WIP/SKETCH section or the speed painting section, since there are forums for those areas of art for that very reason. The Critique center would be a place to offer advice on work that is more finalized, and in need of extra assistance. This way we can be more specific about the flaws in the work and offer more helpful advice on what needs to be fixed. I hope thats clear.

New Rule: Sept. 12th 2005: Large bodies of work are not to be "dumped" in this section. Please post new work, that you plan on continuing to work on and fixing up. This is not meant to be a place to dump 20 of your old paintings or a batch of 20 sketches. It would be extremely hard for moderators or members to post critiques on 20 images, so please keep the amount of images in your threads to a minimum. Thanks

New Rule: Sept. 12th 2005: Paint overs or Mark-Ups are encouraged by every member who is willing to take the time to do so. Whether its rendering out the flaws in a rough fashion to help demonstrate your critique or to draw on top of thier work pointing out any mistakes. Paint overs will be much appreciated and I hope that people who recieve a paint over respect that the member took the time to try and better communicate thier advice. Please don't be insulted if a member post a paint over of your work.

and
Fine Arts/Studies/Discovery
Those two sections will give you enough information about the foundations of art and the basics of design.

Then if you have some rough doodles/sketches and ideas or rough color sketches, post them here:
Sketches/Work in Progress
This section will help you with your rough ideas and sketches, working on the thought process of concepting, illustrations and designs in thier early stages, as a work in progress.

Critique Center
Once you have an illustration or design that is in the process of being finalized and you feel the need for further advice...thats when you come to us.
