Posted at March 28, 2016, 3:27 pm: So I'm from small town, Wisconsin, and frankly I just hate it. I've been waiting to get done with high school my whole life so I could finally just move out to a city, where there's actually people. Now, I've decided that I'm going to go to school in Milwaukee (at Milwaukee Area Technical College), but here's my dilemna. There's 4 different campuses, and they all offer the program of study that I would be partaking in. I talked to my guidance counselor, and she basically said all that meant was I needed to choose which campus I liked best. The campuses are located in: Downtown Milwaukee Mequon Oak Creek West Allis All are suburbs of Milwaukee (with the exception of the one in Downtown Milwaukee). Now, I know Milwaukee isn't exactly the cleanest city in the world. Really thats the only reason keeping me from just going ahead and choosing the obvious of Downtown Milwaukee (where most people attend the college at). So, I went ahead and checked out the other campuses they have. Mequon is a little too far north for me (I reside in southern Wisconsin, so commuting home on various occasions, such as holidays would be strenious). Oak Creek doesn't seem to bad, which is south of downtown. But I've sort of cut it close between choosing Downtown Milwaukee or West Allis. West Allis is west of Milwaukee (obviously), in a nice area (so I've seen so far without actually going there myself) with only 60,000 people. It's also only 6 miles away from the actual downtown Milwaukee, making my nightlife easily accessable. Yet, Downtown Milwaukee would allow me to be in the center of the city, have more options with choosing where I wanna live (could choose virtually any side of the city to live in, since school would be in the center of Milwaukee, as opposed to having to live only on the West side since school is on the West side). Basically, just looking for some suggestions. Which do you think I should choose?
