So I just heard a radio spot saying Americans are 36th in the world in general health...not buying that we're that low (I think it was selling a health product, so...), but I know we sure ain't number one. Obesity is rising, and with it, all the complications that occur. Idiotic practices like tanning will lead to increases in skin cancer. People continue to smoke and develope emphasema and lung cancer.

Isn't part of this all because of how privelaged we are? We have access to all the fatty foods that we could desire, at discount prices, mind you. We can burn our skin in tanning booths and scar our lungs with fags (I just like the British term better ). So, it has come to our privelaged status as a first world nation and the leading industrial power actually beginning to do harm to us.
