Med, you might as well close my other thread, as it's kinda outdated now (I was surprised Lieberman polled strongly)
Now we might as well move on to the fall senate race. Who do you a) Think will win between Lieberman, Lamont and the Republican (who's hopeless, btw, don't say him). And who do you want to win
and what's the effects of LaMont's primary victory? Is the party moving further left? Or is there no real effect

I think this is bad on a number of levels, but I'll start out with image
The democrat base is now moving awa from a blue collar image to a country club, left wing intellectual image. At a time when they had a chance to recover conservative democrats who'd been voting republican for the past several years, they have shot themselves in the foot
In order to regain the Senate, the Democrats need victories in red states, including Missouri and Ohio. LaMont's win gives the Democrats the image of the 'netroots' leftist populism of Moveon.org and company, which is effectively rattlesnake poisen in red states.
