Basically, it's being debated today whether Alcoholism is an actual "disease" that one can be affected by and also be cured, but some say it's also just a state of mind.

It's one of those touchy ones, such as homosexuality, which was considered a disease untill modern times and acceptance changed it into a "life-choice".

What do you people think about Alcoholism? At first, I just thought that yes, it could be considered a disease if a person is suffereing physically and mentally from the alcohol, and that things like the AA are great things to help treat people.

But after doing some research, I've came to the conclusion that anyone who is in AA has still not gotten rid of the Alcoholism. The prime thing about AA is to not drink, and to continue to that lifestyle by attending meetings and getting support from people just like you.

But if you have to live your everyday life avoiding alcohol, then you are still letting Alcohol control your life. They shouldn't be afraid to maybe have a drink or two here, because it's what these people like to do. They just need to learn how to control themselves, not learn how to completly rid Alcohol out of there lives.

Anyone get what I'm trying to say?
