How I almost became muslim, then disproved religion:
I was reading today, about islam and muslim. While I found myself hooked at first to the meaning stated of islam, “giving oneself entirely to god and letting god guide life,” I read further to find muslim was yet another religion with standards.
While I have already went deep in my soul to reveal christianity, buddhism, rastafarian, hinduism, and other religions are not the answer for me, I thought that with the extremists claiming to be muslim, committing suicide and homicide at a rapid rate lately, maybe there was something to it. I quickly realized that like most religions, muslim is another religion that speaks peace and good nature. (These radicals are not muslims.) Although, like most religions, it also has an expected belief system that one must follow in order to remain muslim.
I then thought, if one religion claims to be right about something that can’t be proved, another with a different belief is then thought to be wrong. This causes many problems, proven throughout history.
An example of religion being faulty is the belief or not of a certain day of judgment. Since we are all human, and all equal creations of god, if the day of judgment came, we would all be equal regardless of religion. We would be judged solely on our right and wrong choices made throughout life, ultimately, our following of god. This makes religion to be, in the end, no more than a point of conflict between people.
Therefore, islam as a meaning, like many specific points in any religion, is a great thing, but when it comes to following god, there are no exceptions. That being said, separation is not gods way, it is mans.
Life itself is proof of god, because regardless what we can come up with, life came from somewhere. So god is our common point. Lets build on that and not our unproven thoughts of what’s to come.
