Ok so i just got a new bass head. It's an EMAD. Oh my goodness gracious it is the sexiest drumhead i have ever owned (that's not sayin much coming from the owner of hydro's and stock heads though) This head gives me the sound of a recorded bass drum when playing flams, triplets and such. Omg it's so sexy. I might put up a review im just not sure yet. I've heard so many good tihngs on this forum about the EMAD but i had NO IDEA it would be this good
So to make this thread non-pointless.. What are your favourite bass heads and why. What kind of muffling do you use, and what kind of sound does it give you?

I use a remo PS3 with a 5" hole in the reso, and no muffling.

i'm all about the superkick1 with a 3" offset ported reso.

I use the EMAD as well and love it.

EMAD > anything else I've tried But I haven't tried much.

Bah, the foam rings dont give enough muffling anyway.

I've only used my stock batter over a stock batter with an offset port...

i currently use 1-ply amb weight clear for batter and 1-ply amb weight...

E-Mad = cool.

yep, it's totally awesome I also bought an EMAD last month.

I've just recently tried the trick with mine of taping two 10p pieces ...

i use stock heads with a towel for muffling

Coated amb with coated amb reso side.

^oo might try that.

I plan on getting an EMAD with the eq3 reso.

EQ3 Medium-Tight Tension.

I got the stock on there, has a muffling ring built in.

Have you tuned down much? Mabey ya got the drum a bit to high in tunin...
