So anyone of you cats here play any Dungeons and Dragons?

I wanted it really bad when I was younger, but my parents had been brainwashed by the Tom Hanks movie that I would cut my wrists. Now that I'm older, I can make my own decisions and have gotten interested. Any good places to start? I'm getting the Core Rules set soon.
