Posted at May 27, 2017, 7:02 pm: Recently, I have started a crackdown on deleting frivolous tabs. Here's why: I was cleaning out some tabs today, namely Foo Fighters and Turtle Lip Crew tabs. I realized that many people blatantly break the rules as to how a tab is supposed to be made. Therefore, I am going to lay down the law as I practice it in this thread. I am sick of people posting redundant tabs to get their tab counts up, and I plan on stopping it in its tracks. Here goes: Flagrant bad tabs: I cleared out no less tan five tabs that looked like the following on Sunday: 978659765 865486547 764976499 848967549 749497647 865486548 Actually, I should say I deleted the same tab I made above no less than five times. These are instantly deleted, and if we had manual ban control, I would immeadiately ban anybody who submitted this kind of crap. Please do not do it. It's stupid, and we're sick of cleaning up these kind of things. Also, the tabs passed by your eyes, too. Don't approve something like this, please. Posting other Artist's Tabs in a Small Band's Area: I noticed no less than fifteen tabs titled as about two or three Rufio songs in the band labeled as Turtle Lip Crew. This, along with a few other problems in here led me to delete about forty songs total from this band. I honestly do not know if this is a legitimate band or not; however, DO NOT post songs from one band in another band's area. It's unfair if we get complaints that a fake band is posting crap tabs if some person decides to use this as a way to increase their post count. This is a low way of increasing your tab count, and if you get caught, the tabs will be immediately deleted. Stealing Tabs: I decided I wanted to increase the money amount in the bank, so I sneaked into your house at night and took money from your wallet and added it to mine. Absurd, right? People do the same thing with tabs all the time. In the Foo Fighters and Turtle Lip Chew pages, there were several songs with eight or more versions. The problem is that for most of these songs, six or seven of them were exact carbon copies of the four or five-star tabs at the top of the page. It is stupid, and it is stealing. If I find copied tabs, I will delete all but the one at the top of the page. While this may seem a bit unfair at times, but more often than not, the original one is going to be at the top (It's also more likely to have contact information, too). If you guys stopped doing this, it would save all of us a lot of time and annoyances. Abusing the Queue System: This, again is starting to make me mad. I only have one approval vote for new songs, and I have no veto power as a moderator unless the tab is already submitted. The site does not need 643 versions of Basket Case on the site. I have not done much in Green Day, but the day will come when I clean out all of the superflous tabs in there. It's up to you guys to not approve redundant (No Green Day pun intended) tabs in the meantime. Also, be less concerned with the number of moderating points you have. Actually try to find out if we have a redundant tab or not. Take the extra five minutes to know what you are doing before mindlessly approving or disapproving random tabs. Half of the bogus TLC tabs I deleted yesterday were approved by you guys, after all. Abusing the Queue System Part 2: The Removal Queue is not free from flaws, either. I see people reporting tabs that need to be removed, "Because I need room to submit my Tab." How low can you go? I hate it when a note-perfect version of a good song is on the chopping block because some greedy kid wants to pad his stats on the all-time tabbers page. It is even sadder when this song has three removal votes because people take no time to investigate whether or not the tab should be removed. Also, pay attention to the tab being removed. I've seen several blank tabs that have +3 ratings to keep them. That means more clutter for you guys and more work for us moderators. Please take more care in it. ----------------------------------------- Anyhow, this turned out to be a bit of a rant, but I hope I can get some of you guys to stop some of this stuff. Take care when in the approval/removal queues and report bogus/misplaced/stolen tabs if you see them.
