Ok, so as a few of you know I'm going to be writing an article series on Guitar Players who have changed the way that guitar is played today
Now in order for me to do this, I'm gonna need a little help from the rest of you here in the Guitar Forum.
I plan to write two articles on each genre of Guitar music
Shred/Metal - Dimebag Darrel, Yngwie Malmstee
Blues - BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughau
Rock - Jimi Hendrix,
Funk - Nuno Bettencourt, John Frusciant
Punk - Johnny Ramone,
Classical - Julian Bream, John William
Country - Johnny Cash,
Jazz -
Effects - Dave Gilmour,
Creators - Leo Fender, Les Paul and Fred Gretsc
Now where I have put the star (*) sign, is artists that I am unsure about
For Shred/Metal I have no idea who to put alongside Dimebag
For the Rock articles, I was thinking either Slash or the Iron Maiden guitarists, ie all three of them, or Pete Townshend. Need a few more Ideas for this topic

Funk - Maybe one of the Chilli's guitaists, for example Frusciante, but they don't really seem very Funky to me
Punk - This is a hard topic for me, at first I'd thought, Billie Joe, but I'm not too sure what he's accomplished on the guitar, then I though about the guitarist from the Sex Pistols. Need more Ideas for this topic also
Now those are the categories I have chosen, If there is something else you wish me to add, ie, Ska or Grunge then please say
I would appreciate all the help that you will give me, in pitching sugestions for players, genres etc
Thanks
Ps, If you disagree with someone else's or my choice of players please say and put forward one or more VALID reasons
Thanks again.
