hey there, im a drummer, but im looking to buy me a bass, as it seems easier than guitar, and im already used to guitarists taking the piss. so, what is a good bass / amp to buy considering it would only be for casual playing?

i dont have a clue about anything to do with bass, all i know is it has 4 strings, is longer than guitar and is tuned an octave lower than guitar.
