I'm in a pop punk band, though we're not gigging yet we have full band practices etc, but when we do, the other guitarist always seems to have the correct amp settings to fit the songs and make them sound at their best, yet I'm not really good at it.
Anyway I just wondered if anyone, who is better at this, would be able to help me get some settings, or at least point me in the direction of a resource whcih could help?
The equipment I'm using is Fender Tele, and a Fender Frontman (ack, I know but it's sufficient til we start to gig...) and I also have a Zoom 505 pedal.
I'm finding it quite hard to describe the styles, so I'll give a few examples:
A more "raw" setting eg GD's Only Of You, B182's Wrecked Him
A setting thats distorted but doesn't really fuzz like NFG's throughout the self titled
and one thats kind of elasticky like in the intro to B182 - Anthem Pt 2.
