OK, I'm down to my final assessments for high school. For music, we had a choice of three, from which I picked all of them, because I want to boost my ranking (I'm not about to explain how the Queensland Senior School/Uni system works). Anyway, there's a solo performance and a composition, which I'll do in no time, as well as a written/spoken one. Basically, we choose a topic, any topic, that relates to music and has a comparitive element to it. I'm fishing for suggestions as to what to do. A couple of ideas I've had are, the role of the guitar now and 50 years ago, digital vs tube amps (that will bore the crap out of the class), joe satriani vs eric johnson (or similar)....it really can be anything. Any good ideas?
