Back in July I bought a Marshal amp and now its giving me some problems.
When I turn the amp on it makes this weird noise, it sounds like the cooling fan’s motor is dying, or is just having problems starting up. It makes this noise for about 2 minutes then stops.

The amp crackles like crazy when I'm not playing.
If my gain is up above 4 it crackles. I play with my gain at 10 and as soon as I stop hitting the strings, in comes the crackle.
And, the best part.
When I unplug my guitar cord from the amp (while the amp is on) the crackle is way bad, by far worse than the crackle when I'm plugged into the amp.

Is there something that I’m doing wrong? Or didn’t do? I read over the Marshal booklet that came with the amp, and there wasn’t really any troubleshooting in there.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

I love the Marshall bashing in here.
