so what got everyone into hardcore music?

i know for me it was the fact that no one gave a **** about who you were it was all about the music, as compared to the normal punk scene where it was all about the fashion with their little mohawks, leather jackets, and anarchy signs and then they would all go home to their perfect little house in the suburbs and their perfect little family. and the music in hardcore was awesome since im addicted to speed in music and the sheer intensity of it all just blew my mind. my very first hardcore band was minor threat and it was their song "screaming at a wall." when ian mackaye started screaming i was just like "holy hell he cant sing worth a **** but he has some passion in the music." and the actual practice of DIY was badass.
