Hey, I'm trying to learn how basses are built and how to customize my old bass. So I started to look at all the electronics and I followed them from the pickups into these grey things underneath the control knobs, which they are soldered to, I was wondering what they were called. Also there is a wierd green thing sticking out one of them what is the function/name of the part. Also the most confusing thing to me was I found a wire under my bridge when I took it off, I followed it and it went to all the grey things then back to my P pickup, is that some sort of ground wire?

Also any links about electronics would be greatly appreciated!
