Im painting my bass figured I will do a checkers pattern but I don't know:

1. what to use to make the checkers

I was thinking of painting the whole guitar one color and then crossing with paint tape all over it and spraying my other color then I would have to movethe tape lines up and to the left one to get the other squares is there an easier way to do this?

2. What tape to get

Imn sure i can find out but any recomendations?

3. What paint to get.

Im pritty sure I can use spay paint but they say not to use more than half the can. And then cover it with clear acrilic.

Any comments?
