Posted at June 27, 2016, 8:21 pm: Hey all, long time no see. I did a gig last night at pinewood studios, home of the bond movies, and the gig was, you guessed it, a james bond theme! So my band had to quickly learn a few token bond songs and play them to backing tracks which were actually karaoke backing tracks, lol. It was the best the bandleader could do in a short time, short of hiring a brass section which wasn't economically a good idea. There were 5 tunes and I wrote out my own dots for them. Here's 2 of the tunes and the dots that accompany them. The beauty of writing your own drum charts is that you can write them how you want as long as they make sense. In live and let die, technically speaking the bars leading up to the double time section should still be written like the very first bar, but I decided to write them as 2 bars for every one bar if you know what I mean. In other words, the counting was 1 + 2 + etc and instead of 1e+a, etc. In man with the golden gun, there is a long tacet and then it ralls, ( slows down before coming back in with a fill). I couldn't figure out exactly what beat that fill was coming back in on, so I came in just after it. That's the problem with giving drummers tracks with no click track, it makes it harder to know exactly where you are. We were playing live over those exact tracks you hear, no clicks, and nailing coming back after the various gaps. So the drums are on the track but my drumming drowned all that crap out I tell you though, it was a blast playing these, and it turned out very tight and clean. Well, for anyone wanting some music and charts to play along to, ( albeit with drums on the tracks), have fun with these. Each tune starts after about 10 seconds. http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM's%20Stuff/LALD1.jpg http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM's%20Stuff/06%20Live%20&%20Let%20Die%20%5BKaraoke%20Version%5 D.mp3 http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM's%20Stuff/ManWGG.jpg http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM's%20Stuff/The%20Man%20With%20The%20Golden%20Gun.mp3 Original of the message was taken from http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/ Replies:/Sticks songs into MP3 player Dude you have a great feel to drummin...Sounds great dude Erm, that's not me playing, those are the backing tracks I played to. /Bashes own head on table I must have misunderstood you Ahwell yeah i guess i misunderstood you too.
