I've lately been using a comp mic and ntrack studio, and basically playing stuff with my guitar and amp and recording it with the comp mic. I showed it to a friend, and it was pretty poor quality, and he said something about recording by plugging the guitar into the Line In on my computer's sound card. Does anyone know if this can be done, if so, what kind of stuff will I need, will i be able to use pedals, etc. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Replies:

All you need is an 1/4" to 1/8" adapter and it will plug rig...

You can do this, you just need the correct adapter as stated above.

You have to plug it in like Guitar -> preamp -> line-in.
