Posted at June 25, 2006, 5:36 pm: I have no formal schooling, and only draw in my free time. Most of what I do, I do for fun. I do not consider this "Amazing" nor do I consider what I do "Unique" minus the fact that in general it is my idea brought to life. I will take critique in stride, and am not bothered that people have suggestions. The artists I admire, and aspire to be like are Boris Vallejo, Luis Royo, Julie Bell, Dorian Cleavenger, Keith Parkinson, and other fantasy artists that are of similar style. (Boris and Julie however are my favorites.) Right now I have pretty much got the basics, in my opinion, of female figure and features down (my proportions are close, not perfect, but they look right for the most part.) My biggest problem is putting them in an environment, and painting them. I've tried painting a little, but I've given up for lack of time to actually study it. I'll be taking some lower level art classes in college just for filler - but I have no desire to really pursue it. It's not that I don't love art, but that I realize art is very hard to make profit off of, and with people out there a lot better then I am it's best to pursue as a hobby, not a career. Anyway, without further words here's a few of the things I've done. (Relatively recently) First is my favorite of my recent work "Poison Ivy".. I'm reworking the eye placement since one is smaller than the other. Forgive the line that runs down the side of it, my scanner has been doing that for no aparent reason for some time now... (If the image isn't loading, then go to the following page to view it Poison Ivy - Click here) Again disreguard the white line on the side from the scanner... This is my version of the ever popular double D (for her initials of course) Daisy Duke Click here to view daisy if the image doesn't load below As far as my opinion of this goes? It's ok, the scanner made the shading in the stomach a lot more sever then it is in actuality... In any case again the eyes seem overdone, a common thing I do. The original I had her standing as if the picture was drawn from an angle of looking up at her, I disliked it, and went with this - which is a little better - something I'd rather work with. And last, but not least a joke I have. Based of the popular book series, and movies "Heavy Metal", and off actual Heavy Metal chicks I know... Heavy Metal Chicks are PHAT (notice ph, not f. ) click here to view Heavy Metal Chick, if the picture isn't loading. Oh yeah... and disreguard the stain, somehow coffee was spilled on it so I'm working on the next reworked one, which is what I planned to do, but not in such a hurry. Original of the message was taken from http://www.conceptart.org/forums/ Replies:keep up!!~~Looks like a good start here So far, the proportions are coming to... proportions on the body looks great but the faces are butt ugly imo. Thanks I liked "Heavy Metals" face though, she isn't drop ... I'd say your proportions are working well too. Hell yeah, heavy metal chicks rock. Bendragon - I already squint at my work, my eyesight is horrible LOL. Other Topics of ConceptArt.org Forums:Andrew Ley Sketchesfrog and *BAM* !!!!
