Hello everyone. This is my first ever thread in the Bass forum, because I'm actually a drummer. However, for a few months I've had a lingering desire to start learning the bass, so I'm thinking of getting one for xmas. This is by no means a foregone conclusion, I'm torn between getting a bass and getting drum lessons so that I can actually progress on THAT instrument. So, this is either my first AND last ever thread in the Bass forum, or the first of many. We shall see.

Anyway, acting on the assumption that I DO get a bass, has anyone got any suggestions for a reasonable first bass?

Thanks in advance.
