I took my XXX to my first jam session. My fellow guitarist had two cabs, one being a peavey, so I didn't bring the Marshall one I am borrowing from another friend.
Everything is good and it sounds awesome. I get a kickass metal tone out of it, but when I crank the master volume, when i stop playing a sort of low noise comes. Its pretty loud, but when i begin to play my playing either gets over the noise or the noise stops. I don't think it is just the amp, because when I turn my volume knob off on my Les Paul, the noise stops.
So my question is, could this result from me plugging my head into the top switch of the cab? Does that have anything to do with it? His cab is fairly old and has no labels on it.
Also, would a Boss NS-2 or something do the trick? is there anything to stop this?
I want to get this fixed, for gigging and stuff, and I think its a big hassle to when I'm playing quite parts to have to turn my volume knob off and flick it back on.
Thanks Guys.
Oh and by the way, I'm not sure if its the cab, considering I've never cranked my XXX on my Marshall cab.
