Pretty soon I'll have enough money for a new bass. My local shop isn't well stocked so a few weeks ago, I went to a shop in another town that was a short drive away. They had a much better selection than the other shop (My local shop doesn't even have Fenders ).

I had a look around the shop and they had a few MIMs and Squires, Tanglewoods and such, but I managed to narrow my selection down to 2.

These were a Cort Curbow 4 or a Yamaha RBX374. Both were under £300 and I've heard good things about both (from reviews at online stores and here). I would have had a go on both, but the people who run the shop don't like you touching things (the heavy-duty alarm system speaks loud and clear ).

In closing, which is better value for money as far as build quality, versatily etc go (I dabble in quite a few musical styles i.e rock, metal, punk, funk, ska, hip-hop etc)?

Edit: Can one of the mods move this to the main Bass forum please? I'm not getting any feedback in Beginners. I should've posted it in the main forum anyway. kthnx

The RBX is a great bass, I Have the five string version.
