Up until this week I assumed that sellers using the low buy it now, with very high shipping were doing this to avoid a higher final value fee from ebay, but there is another reason I hadn't considered. I purchased a item for .99 with 15.00 S&H, the item is worth about $12 so I figured with S&H this would be about correct. After receiving defective merchandise and trying to get a fefund from paypal, paypal has decided in there wisdom I can mail back the item, and they will refund me the purchase price minus the sellers shipping charges. So I will actually lose more money as it will cost me $3 to ship.

So all this seller will be out is 99 cents if I would be foolish enough to return it. Not a bad scam for him.Telebay
